Project «Education and activation of young people in the elections of the President of Ukraine in 2004»,

«YXXIC» became the regional partner of the Center of Political Education in realization of this project in Chernihiv region.
Within the project it was created the Initiative « Young people at the elections!». The activity of the initiative was oriented on the young electors, in particular on the students and young people who vote for the first time. For informative support of the Initiative the web site was opened „Youth at the elections” (www.muv.org.ua).
A number of seminars for the representatives of youth organizations concerning education and activation of young people during the elections were organized and conducted in Chernihiv region. The participants of the training got the educational manuals „Conduct of the campaigns concerning education and activation of young electors”. During the project 7 types of the printed educational manuals and 3 video - and 5 radio programmes directed on training and activation of young people were widespread.
During July – October, 2004 «YXXIC» and some other influential local youths organizations in 14 regions of Ukraine conducted the varied elucidative actions in which over 20 thousand young electors took part.
After the elections the Center of Political Education organized the conference „Renewal of Ukraine: participation of young people”, the purpose of which was to summarize the experience of work concerning the education and activation of young people during the elections and to define the priorities of the development of the youth policy and youth movement in Ukraine, and young people’s influence on a new authority formation.
